Meet Julie Mead

Julie Mead has always loved working with computers.

As a Kindergarden teacher, she originally, and still is,

a traditional hobby scrapper but after she picked up a digital scrapbook magazine several years ago, she became intrigued with trying to use her computer for creating scrapbook pages.  After playing around for about a year, she opened

www.e-scapeandscrap.net.  She shoots all her photos with a Canon Rebel. And prints her pages on a Epson Printer.  How does she find the time?

Amy:  Do you have any advice for the many students/novices creating their own digital pages?

Julie:  Creating digital pages is not as hard as you might think.  You'll never know unless you give it at try. (Sounds like a true teacher) I personally would recommend Adobe Photoshop Elements to beginners.  It's scrapper friendly and there is lots of help like Scrapper's Guide Instructional Videos to get you started.

I've recently helped Linda Sattgast with her latest video training CD for Photoshop Elements.  Linda Sattgast does all the training videos and I have designed all of the templates and kits included on the CD.  You can see the new product here: http://scrappersguide.com/products_el.html

Amy:  What do you like most about what you do?

Julie:  I have always liked creating.  It's a very satisfying process for me to get an idea from my head and see it come to life in front of my eyes.  One of my favorite things about owning my own store is the fact that I have met people from around the world.

Amy:  What do you like the least?

Julie:  When I can't seem to find enough time in the day to create.

Julie:  The interest in digital scrapping is really growing.  It's a fun hobby with a huge community of help out there.  Everyone had to begin somewhere so just jump right in there and give it a try.
